First day on site - update from the team!

Today's post regarding yesterday on site was written by Sarah and Hannah....

"Today we travelled down south from Addis to Asella. Due to the early start the first couple of hours were very quiet even though the driver insisted we all listened to his tuneful Amharic music….we knew that when we arrived the scouts would sing to us as a welcome, so to make sure that we didn't seem rude, we prepared our own medley of songs and yes 'Shine Jesus Shine' with actions did feature.

We headed straight to Hamlee 19 School and were welcomed by the scouts. After a lunch and some Ethiopian coffee we headed down to a ready built classroom to prepare for what we might be teaching the kids over the next few days, and it was perfect timing to be inside for the torrential downpour. When it cleared up we began to mix the cement for a concrete bar that is going to help support the roof. Overall, it was a very productive first site visit and we are all excited to start properly tomorrow!"
